According to reports, a $3 million reward has been placed on President Donald Trump for anyone who assassinate him.

The bounty has been placed by an Iranian lawmaker who adds that, the Islamic republic could avoid threats if it had nuclear weapons.

Since Trump pulled Washington out of Tehran’s nuclear agreement with world powers in 2018 and reimposed sanctions on the country, there has been tensions which has steadily ramped up.

The standoff sparked tit-for-tat military strikes this month.

The city of Kerman is the hometown of revered military commander Qassem Soleimani, whose killing in a drone strike ordered by Trump on Jan. 3 in Baghdad prompted Iran to launch missiles at US targets in Iraq.

US Vow To Strike Iran, Reveals When

According to the defense secretary Mark Esper, the United States, has vowed to strike Iran and its proxies where legally available and appropriate.

He made this known in an interview on Monday, adding that the U.S. has the constitutional authority to strike Iranian proxies in Iraq and on Iran’s home soil in retaliation for attacks on American forces.

Mark however maintain that, the Authorization for Use of Military Force Resolution gives the U.S. military the right to attack Iranian-backed proxies in Iraq.

Quoting the President's power under Article II of the Constitution, Mark insisted that, the president's power would allow the U.S. to strike Iran in the event that U.S. interests are targeted.

He said;

We hold Iran responsible for its proxies, and we will retain the right to exercise self-defense and take action were legally available and appropriate to hold those proxies accountable for their actions.

He maintain that, the Trump administration killed powerful Iranian General, Qassem Soleimani out of self-defense.

He added;

There was a complete agreement based on what he had done and what he was planning to do, the broader attack that he was orchestrating in the region that would be bigger in scale and would likely result in open hostilities, that this was a compelling target to take out.

The United States is safer today than we were a few weeks ago because we eliminated the world’s foremost terror, Qassem Soleimani, who has the blood of hundreds of American soldiers and Marines on his hands.

Five Countries Meet To Decide Action Against Iran

It is certain that Iran is in for trouble as five nations whose citizens were on board the Ukrainian international airliner shot down by Iran will meet in London on Thursday.

According to the Ukrainian minister, the meeting is to discuss possible legal action against Iran.

This was disclosed by Ukraine’s foreign minister, Vadym Prystaiko, on Monday.

Prystaiko maintain that, the countries would also discuss compensation and the investigation into the incident.

He said;

We have created this group of foreign ministers from the grieving nations. On January 16, we will meet in person in London to discuss the ways, including legal, how we are following this up, how we are prosecuting them [Iran].

Following the Ukraine International Airlines plane which crashed on Wednesday shortly after Iran launched missiles at bases hosting American forces in Iraq in response to the killing of Qasem Soleimani, one of Iran’s top generals, in a US drone strike.

The plane went down on the outskirts of Tehran during takeoff just hours after Iran launched a barrage of missiles at US forces in Iraq

Ukraine has reacted to Iran’s clarifications that it actually fired down the airline that killed over 170 passengers on Wednesday.

However, Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a statement following Iran’s claim that it accidentally fired down the plane.


Zelensky’s statement said;

This morning was not a good one but it brought the truth. Even before the International Commission could finish its work, Iran admitted to shooting down the Ukrainian plane.

But we insist on a full admission of guilt. We expect Iran to conduct a full and open investigation, bring those responsible to justice, return the bodies of the deceased, pay compensation and issue official apologies through diplomatic channels.

We hope that the investigation will continue without artificial delays and obstacles. Our 45 professionals need full access and engagement to establish justice

After blaming US adventurism for the disaster, Iran on Saturday confirmed suspicions that its missile system shot down the Ukraine Airlines plane killing 176 people.

Iran said it unintentionally shot down the plane, calling it an “unforgivable mistake”, In an apologia on Saturday.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani tweeted;

The Islamic Republic of Iran deeply regrets this disastrous mistake.

Armed Forces’ internal investigation has concluded that regrettably missiles fired due to human error caused the horrific crash of the Ukrainian plane & death of 176 innocent people.

Investigations continue to identify & prosecute this great tragedy & unforgivable mistake.
