Nigerian international player, Odion Ighalo's stay at Manchester United has been extended until January 2021.

The striker arrived from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua on a temporary loan deal on the final day of the January transfer window, to provide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with cover for the injured Marcus Rashford who was sidelined with a back issue.

Discussions with Shenhua have been protracted, with the Chinese club keen to have their forward back for the start of the Super League season.

However, after weeks of negotiations, the two clubs agreed on a deal which will see the 30-year-old stay at Old Trafford on loan until the end of January 2021.

United have already had to pay Shenhua a loan fee for the initial five-month spell and it is understood the Chinese side will receive another payment from United for the extended period.

The central midfielder has been linked with a move back to Juventus just four years after completing his own return to Old Trafford from the Serie A giants.

Pogba may have to further lower his salary demands of £11m per year, already down from the £15m-a-year deal he is on at United.

The report on the front page of the Italian newspaper claims that United are open to letting Pogba head back to Italy.

Pogba became the most expensive player in world football when he made the return to Manchester four years ago but has failed to impress and this year has been beset by injury woes.

The former Partizan Belgrade and Anderlecht, who played as a striker died on the spot after reportedly taking his own life in the Serbian capital of Belgrade.

According to reports his girlfriend Ivana Stanic dashed out of the house immediately the incident occurred calling on emergency services.

Stanic said:

He could have killed himself the night before. He was drunk and that had a big effect on him.

I took the bag with the gun away from him. I told him that he has a son who loves him a lot, and people who love him too.

He was depressed and anxious in the last period. He behaved like he was struggling with something, but I don't know what.

His son lived with us for a period. We had plans for the future and now he is gone. I can't go back to the apartment, I will take my stuff from there, but I can't go there yet.

Serbian football also took to twitter to mourn the former striker, they wrote;

The league resumption was revealed by the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, who said it will resume from June 8.

Making this revelations in Saturday afternoon during a press conference, Sanchez assured that the worst is behind us after COVID-19 deaths and new cases fell significantly in recent weeks in Spain.

He said;

La Liga can begin again from June 8.

The ball will roll with all the necessary health and safety conditions in place.

The players observed social distancing during celebrations, as the game was played behind closed doors with no supporters in attendance.

Erling Haaland opened scoring in the 28th minute as Raphael Guerreiro made it 2-0 just before half time.

Soon after the restart, Thorgan Hazard made it 3-0 to further increase the home side’s advantage and Guerreiro grabbed his second in the 63rd minute.

United Kingdom government has given the  Premier League go-ahead to resume behind closed doors from June 1.

The U.K. Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, set out a roadmap to ease lockdown restrictions on Sunday evening and a full report has since been released.

In the 50-page document entitled, Our Plan to Rebuild: The UK Government's Covid-19 Recovery Strategy, which was released on Monday, included, permitting cultural and sporting events to take place behind closed-doors for broadcast, while avoiding the risk of large-scale social contact, but this cannot happen before June 1.

The document stated that lockdown measures will only be eased once certain measures have been met.

Meanwhile, Julien Laurens and Gab Marcotti discuss team doctors' involvements in restarting the Premier League.

In any case, no spectators will be allowed at matches should the Premier League return , with the league's 20 clubs set for a vote on whether to resume the season in the next few days.

England's top division has been suspended since March 13 and there is, as yet, no clear consensus surrounding how, or if, the 2019-20 season will start. There are still 92 Premier League fixtures to be played.

Fans in football stadiums "may only be fully possible significantly later depending on the reduction in numbers of infections.

The Premier League and other top leagues around Europe have until May 25 to outline to UEFA their detailed plans to start football matches again. The Bundesliga will become Europe's first major football league to resume during the coronavirus crisis when it starts again this weekend.
