'El Clasico Is No Longer Special Without Ronaldo ' - Lionel Messi Admits

According to the Barca’s talisman, El Clasico isn’t the same without a Portuguese superstar, Ronaldo.

He also acknowledged that his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo in Spain was special and it will remain forever.

The duo played for Barcelona and Real Madrid, where they rivaled each other for the La Liga and Champions League titles from 2009-2018 as well as the Ballon D'Or before the Portuguese footballer moved to Juventus.

Speaking about their rivalry, Messi said;

It was a special duel and it will remain forever because it lasted many years and it is not easy to maintain certain levels for a long time.

Plus, the teams we played in were also very demanding, both Real Madrid and Barca, the two best teams in the world. Competing on an equal footing for so many years, I think it will remain [in people’s minds] forever.

The sporting duel between us was very nice on a personal level and I think people had fun too, whether they were fans of Madrid or Barca or even only football fans in general. Obviously, when Cristiano was at Real Madrid, the matches were always special.

The matches against Real always mean a lot, but when Cristiano was there they became much more special. But it’s a time that has passed now, that we have experienced. Now, we have to look ahead to the future.

Vincent Kompany Names Hardest Player To Play Against Between Messi And Ronaldo

Debate have ensue for years about who the better player is, and while recent performances may lead some to believe Messi is the world's best, you can never write off Ronaldo.

Vincent Kompany Names Hardest Player To Play Against Between Messi And Ronaldo

Vincent Kompany, Manchester City legend, who came up against both Messi and Ronaldo on several occasions during his time at Man City, believes the Argentine is more special than the Portuguese.

Kompany has named Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi as the hardest player to play against ahead of Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo.

When asked who is hardest to play against, Kompany said;

I love Ronaldo and I love all of the things he stands for but I have to go for Messi.

Just the speed of execution… it’s talent and I think talent is difficult to overcome when it’s that good.

But I love Ronaldo because I’ve seen his progression. I’ve seen him being a player that he was at United and progressed to being so driven and then going to a different way of playing.

The way he plays now at Juventus is different to the way he played when he was at United, different to how he played when he was at Real Madrid.

I love that in a player but Messi is special.

However, the duo have won eleven out of the last twelve Ballon d’ Ors between them.

Mourinho Is A World Class Manager - Klopp Admits

Liverpool will travel to Tottenham on Saturday, which Klopp believes Jose Mourinho remains a world-class coach and a threat to his side’s unbeaten Premier League record.

A massive 28-point gap separates the sides that contested the Champions League final just seven months ago with Liverpool running away with the title, while sixth-placed Spurs’ ambition is just to make it back into the top four.

Mourinho’s honeymoon period in north London is over after a run of just two wins in Tottenham’s last seven games, but he has consistently been a thorn in Liverpool’s side with Chelsea and Manchester United in the past.

Klopp said;

Jose Mourinho is a world-class manager with a specific mindset. I would say he wants to win with all he has. I respect that a lot.

That means each situation his team is in, he tries to use for his team.
