Liverpool Vs Chelsea: Mane, Salah Score As Reds Defeat The Blues 2-0

The Liverpool vs Chelsea match ended 2 - 0 in favour of Jurgen Klopp's men as they stay 2-points buoyantly at ranking high the Premier League table.

The first visible chance of the game fell to Mohamed Salah when he took a first-time volley from an Sadio Mane's cross which Kepa Arrizabalaga went to ground to catch easily.

Just after clocking the 20th minute, Eden Hazard who was played as a false-nine, found his way into the Liverpool box as he twists and turns before hitting a low drive, but it did not trouble Alisson in goal. Willian also had an opportunity wasted in the 30th minute as he made a solo run into the 18-yard area but could not direct his shot towards goal.

Mane should have made it 1-0 in the 38th minute as Salah's cut-back a low cross from the left flank and the Senegalese had Arrizalaga beaten but not the post. The first half ended with not much talking points as Chelsea had Antonio Rudiger carried off with a suspected knee injury and Ceasar Azpilicueta shown a yellow card.

Knowing full sure that Manchester City had taken three points at Crystal Palace, Liverpool were put in the hot seat following a goalless first half.

Finally, six minutes after the restart, Liverpool scored the opener through Mane, courtesy of a beautiful cross from Jordan Henderson as he headed home to make it 1-0 to the Reds.
And a minute later, Salah scored an absolute screamer as he unleashed a shot from his favourite left-foot, giving Arrizabalaga no chance in goal to make it 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Hazard was unlucky not to have reduced the deficit on the hour mark, after Azpilicueta's long pass found him one-on-one with Alisson but his shot hit the upright.
