Neymar Banned For Three Matches After Insulting Referee During PSG’s Defeat To Manchester United

Neymar has been banned for three Champions League games by UEFA after “insulting match officials” during PSG’s defeat to Manchester United.

The Brazilian was watching the second-leg of the dramatic round-of-16 tie from the sidelines, where United defeated PSG 3-1 at the Parc des Princes, having been ruled out through injury.

But in a social media post after the game, Neymar explicitly criticised the controversial last-gasp penalty awarded to United for handball against Presnel Kimpembe.

Neymar wrote in an Instagram handle:

'This is a disgrace, they put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR.''

''There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back! Go f*** yourselves!''

As a followup to the above statement, UEFA’s disciplinary committee has released an official statement, it reads:

"The CEDB has decided to suspend the Paris Saint-Germain player Neymar Junior for three (3) UEFA competition matches for which he would be otherwise eligible, for insulting match officials."

This implies that the £200m star player will miss half of Paris Saint-Germain's group games in next year's Champions League
